Before checking if Silverlight's Plug-in settings are enabled, check your Safari version first. Older versions of Safari have the Plug-in settings in different locations.


How to check your version of Safari

  • Open Safari.
  • Next, click on Safari in the top menu bar, then click About Safari.
    • The following is a computer running Safari v.11.0.1


  • Once you've confirmed your version of Safari, follow the proper steps below.


Safari v. 9

  • Click on Safari in the top menu bar, then click Preferences.



  • Next, click on the Security icon in the top menu bar, then click the "Plug-in Settings..." button at the bottom of the window.


  • Click on the checkbox next to Silverlight on the left-hand side of the window, then change the dropdown next to the Dayforce website (usr53.dayforcehcm.com) on the right-hand side to "Allow" or "Always Allow" (preferred if available).


Safari v. 10

  • Click on Safari in the top menu bar, then click Preferences.



  • Next, click on the Security icon in the top menu bar, then click the "Plug-in Settings..." button at the bottom of the window.
  • Click on the checkbox next to Silverlight on the left-hand side of the window, then change the dropdown next to the Dayforce website (usr53.dayforcehcm.com) on the right-hand side to "On".


Safari v. 11

  • Click on Safari in the top menu bar, then click Preferences.



  • Next, click on the Websites icon in the menu bar, then in the left-hand column under Plug-ins, make sure Silverlight is checked.
  • Once Silverlight is checked, choose "On" from the dropdown menu on the right-hand side next to the Dayforce website (usr53.dayforcehcm.com).
